PROFILE SUMMARY

I am a qualified Business Coach and HR Consultant. I have run Second Step Coaching since January 2008, following more than 15 years’ experience in HR in a variety of sectors including Financial Services, Automotive and Telecoms. I am passionate and enthusiastic about coaching and HR with the ability to forge strong relationships in the business arena.

I have strong communication and influencing abilities alongside a questioning style and the desire to make improvements and deliver HR and coaching strategies that meet business needs.

I have strategic and operational experience as well as the ability to manage teams of people. Key achievements during my career include the creation of an internal communications strategy including organisation of a company-wide motivational event, creation and implementation of performance management systems, organisational restructure and redundancy programmes, creation and development of an on-line outplacement and career coaching website,  Policy and Employee Handbook development and senior level recruitment.

 Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provision of coaching services to individuals within organisations and personal clients. Coaching clients include CEO/Directors/Executives and Business Owners
  • Facilitated organisational restructure, including handling redundancy programme, consultation process and meetings and input to company-wide communications as well as providing support to Managers and Employees during the programme
  • Provision of outplacement counselling and career coaching to redundant employees from an F1 team
  • Creation and implementation of 1-1 Transitional Coaching programme to support those affected by redundancy
  • Created a new process to aid setting clear annual objectives as part of a Company performance management system.  The process has been created using coaching methods to get engagement by the individuals involved

Company:           SL Investment Management Limited

SL Investment Management specialises in low risk, secure investment funds. Prior to joining the Company there was no dedicated HR function and I was responsible for setting up the HR systems and procedures. During my employment I maintained responsibility for all people-related strategic and operational activities including the HR team and Administration teams (approximately 40 personnel).

I was promoted into the Company Leadership Group which involved contributing to and supporting implementation of overall business strategy and objectives. I attended Board meetings on a monthly basis and led discussion on people and operational issues.

 INTERESTS

I enjoy writing  and as well as being part way through writing a novel, I set up two creative writing groups in conjunction with the local Library who meet once a month to discuss their creative works. I love reading and read a wide variety of subjects including books about writing, books about self-development and coaching and of course a range of fiction.  I am interested in psychology and keeping up to date with the latest developments in coaching. I also enjoy baking, in particular making cakes to share with friends. I launched a website to reflect my views called www.coachingandcakes.co.uk . I enjoy yoga and walking.
